Terms & Conditions – A Box of Happiness


A Box of Happiness manufactures small batch handmade cosmetics fresh to order.

We aim to do this as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.

Upon ordering you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.
 Your products will then be made fresh in our little Yorkshire kitchen. 
Once products are made and your order assembled you will receive another email to confirm your order has been dispatched. We use Royal Mail to deliver our parcels so you should receive it in around 3 days but please allow up to 5 working days. We will attempt to meet the buyers reasonable delivery requirements but delivery dates quoted are approximate and time shall not be of the essence.

The buyer shall inspect the goods upon receipt and notify the Company without delay of any items which are missing or damaged.

Subscription Boxes

Orders for monthly Boxes of Happiness will be sent out on the 10th of the month or the closest weekday if this falls on a weekend. Orders placed after the 5th of a month may receive the next month’s box. 

A box of Happiness currently only offers delivery to addresses within the UK through its website.

If you want to arrange a delivery elsewhere in the world please email zoe@aboxofhappiness.co.uk to discuss if this would be possible and the associated costs.

Goods are intended for use in the UK and we make no warranties that the goods are suitable for use outside the UK, or comply with any laws, regulations or standards of any jurisdiction outside the UK.


Should you have any reason to complain about A Box of Happiness’ products, policies or procedures we will attempt to resolve these as a matter of urgency. Please use the customer service contacts above in the first instance.

If we are unable to resolve these problems in house you are advised that you may contact The Retail Ombudsman, 33rd Floor Euston Towers, 286 Euston Road, London, NW1 3DP. If you make this request, we will consider whether we want to use the ombudsman but we are not obliged by law to do so.


As previously stated our products are dispatched via Royal Mail and so we request the customer to allow 5 working days from dispatch notice.

We will not be held liable for events beyond our control that lead to delayed/late deliveries.
These events include but are not limited to:

Postal/Transport strikes
Terrorism or threat of War
Fire, adverse weather conditions, natural disaster
Act of government or other regulatory bodies

Upon receipt of your order you are charged for both the products and the associated delivery costs.

Contractual Agreement

We confirm acceptance of your order at the point in which we confirm dispatch. For orders to the UK only a contract to purchase and deliver takes effect between the customer and A Box of Happiness.
Your order constitutes an offer to us to purchase the goods chosen. If we believe any customer to be acting against these terms and conditions, we reserve the right to cancel their order.

If we do not confirm acceptance of an order by confirming dispatch, we have the right to terminate the order in which case a refund would be made. 
Products remain the property of A Box of Happiness until full payment is received and the products are accepted upon delivery.

Made to Order Products

We cannot accept returns on products that are specifically tailored to the customer’s skin type/skin problem. If you are unhappy with a product that has been specially made, please contact the customer service phone number or via email to resolve the problem.

As our skincare products are freshly made with natural ingredients and no preservatives your fresh products may arrive less fresh than desired, we cannot accept liability for this if delivery time is longer than expected but we request that you select a faster delivery method to allow for this. If the customer chooses not to take this advice, then they accept liability for any problems in regard to the products freshness. A Box of Happiness will do what is reasonably expected in order to minimise this risk. 


A Box of Happiness does not allow resale of its products on a commercial basis unless previously agreed and a formal contract entered into. Payment and Security

We do not store credit or debit card data of our customers in accordance with the Data Protection Act, card details are not entered in to our site, during the checkout process you are sent to another platform associated with our payment merchant which is a secure server.

Payment is accepted by Paypal, Visa, Mastercard…

We can also accept order and payment by email at zoe@aboxofhappiness.co.uk whereby an invoice will be emailed to you. Once you pay the invoice your order will be confirmed but again not accepted until dispatch notification is sent.

Orders can be made by post to A Box of Happiness Orders, 51 Toll Bar Road, Castleford, WF10 1QP by sending a cheque or postal order as well as details regarding products required. Your order will not be made and assembled until payment is cleared.


The prices shown on our website are the prices you pay inclusive of any taxes; VAT will not be added after ordering/checkout. 
All prices are shown in GBP as we only offer website sales to customers in the UK.

Promotions are subject to availability and may end at any time. 
Our prices may change at any time.

Cancellation & Returns

As our products are made to order we ask that customers allow 3 working days for production and assembly before orders are dispatched. Due to the nature of our products we request that any customer wishing to alter or cancel their order does so within the first 24 hours after their order is placed to avoid incurring any costs associated with the order. In these cases, please email zoe@aboxofhappiness.co.uk as soon as possible. 
The customer has a legal right to cancel an order, if the products have already been delivered you have a period of 14 calendar days in which to cancel, this period starts from the day after products are received and includes weekends and bank holidays.

To cancel please do so by email to zoe@aboxofhappiness.co.uk and putting ‘Cancellation’ in the subject field. You will then receive a confirmation within 24 hours.

If cancelling when products have already been delivered you will receive a refund but you must return the products to us at your own cost unless they are deemed to be faulty but also take reasonable care of the products while they are in your possession. The refund will be processed once A Box of Happiness receives and inspects the unwanted goods. We recommend that you use a Recorded Delivery service to return goods. Excluded are goods made or altered to the customer’s specification (including custom orders). A Box of Happiness does not supply goods on a sale or return basis and there is no obligation on the Company to accept returned goods.

We have a legal duty to conform to regulations regarding product descriptions and labelling of our products.

The customer has legal rights regarding products that are faulty or not as described. If products are found to be faulty we will refund all charges including the costs you incur in returning them to us.

We package our products as carefully as possible but understand that sometimes they can still arrive damaged. If this should happen to you please email us as soon as possible at zoe@aboxofhappiness.co.uk with a picture if possible so that we can resolve this in a mutually acceptable way.
